Juice.

Lemonade!

Panting. Sweating.

Adrenaline numbs out the slightest insect sting.

Heat exudes from my skin

Sweat drops come down trickling.

As dizziness jolts my vision and hearing,

My mother arrives with a voice most soothing

A glass of tangy, sweet lemon juice for refreshing

My tired nerves, as my tongue starts lolling.

Lips touch the cool liquid, then my swigging

Brings life to strained muscles that are sagging

There comes a rush of dopamine

My body reboots with brain signals rushing

To leap in joy in a moment so fleeting

And dump my troubles and leave them hanging.

After an exhilarating, nerve-racking workout session, the parched throat calls out for a drink. As I walk around limply I allow my strained muscles to breathe. I thumb those areas on my body which ache and instil a new sense of life in me. As I wipe off trickling drops of sweat, I try to detach the soppy shirt clinging to my hot skin. My eyelids droop in exhaustion.

Just at that time, a cool, refreshing lemonade tastes like nectar on my lips. My body replenishes itself with a greater dose of energy, surpassing that gained on the previous day. My eyes light up with a fresh dazzle, ready to face any challenge ahead. In no time do I leave my worries far behind, in a valley of my past.

Juice it up. Energize. Live.
